Who is responsible

The data controller for scstudies.com and the SCS products is Charles Ferry, Sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) established in France (see the Legal Notice), reachable at support@scstudies.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask.

1. Data we collect

Account. When you create an account, we collect your nickname, your e-mail address and your Sierra Chart username. When you make a purchase, payment is processed by Stripe; we receive the confirmation of payment, never your card details.

Desktop applications (Trading Journal, Market Pulse, Copier Manager). To check your license, the application sends us a machine fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash, from which neither your machine nor you can be identified), a hash of the Windows machine identifier so a hardware change does not lock you out, the version of the application, and the time of each license check or license recovery. Nothing about your trades, your accounts, your broker credentials or your screen is sent to us.

Copier Manager. Your broker credentials are typed into the Sierra Chart instances the application creates on your PC and stay there. The application's log files stay on your PC (%APPDATA%\scs-copier-manager\logs); we only see them if you send them to support yourself.

Support. When you write to support@scstudies.com, we keep the exchange and any file you attach for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of what was agreed.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to operate the SCS service: to authenticate your account, process your orders and renewals, authorize your Sierra Chart study access, validate your application licenses and their machine limits, detect abuse of license keys, send you transactional e-mails (activation, receipts, renewal and trial notices) and answer your support requests. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

The legal bases are the contract between us (your account, your orders, your licenses and their machine limits), our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and in detecting the abuse of license keys, and our legal obligations (invoices and accounting records).

3. Who processes it for us

• Stripe, for payments and invoices.
• Vercel, which hosts this site, and Neon, which hosts our database, both in the United States.
• Resend, which delivers our transactional e-mails.
• Sierra Chart, which receives your Sierra Chart username so that the studies you bought are authorized on your account.

Data hosted in the United States is transferred under the standard contractual clauses these providers offer to their European customers.

4. Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication only. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

5. Data retention

Your account data, your orders and the license records that go with them are kept as long as your account exists, because they are what proves your right to use what you bought. Invoices are kept for the period the tax law requires. You may request the deletion of your account by writing to support@scstudies.com; we then delete or anonymize what the law does not require us to keep.

6. Your rights

You can access the data we hold about you, have it corrected, ask for its deletion, receive it in a portable format and object to a processing, by writing to support@scstudies.com. If you are in the European Union, you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
